Both the serial number and specific volume serial numbers are shown for each drive. Another way is to use the drive’s properties from within Windows. Hit the WIN+E keyboard shortcut to open the list of hard drives (if you’re using Windows 10, also choose This PC from the left).
Hard Drive Serial Number Windows
I have a computer that I am currently working on, that is driving me a bit crazy. The computer is a Dell desktop (1.5–2 Y.O.) that will not boot Windows up. During the Windows boot sequence, it gives me a BSOD and will not fully load up Windows. I have tried MANY solutions, and none were successful. I also cannot boot Windows in Safe Mode.
So, it is looking like I am going to have to re-install Windows all together, and start over. The issue is, the hard drive contains Microsoft Office 2010 and Adobe Acrobat Standard 10. The client does not have the serial numbers for these programs, and doesn’t want to have to re-purchase the software if I restore the computer, and format the HD. However, I am able to attach the hard drive to my working computer using a SATA to USB kit that I have. Does anyone know how I can pull the Microsoft Office 2010 and Acrobat Standard X software serial numbers off of the drive, while it is connected with a SATA to USB cable? I usually use Belarc Advisor to get serial numbers, but I can’t use that this time as it is connected as an external drive. Any ideas??? Any help is GREATLY appreciated, thanks!
